Manor Division
Is represented on the standard by the royal coat of arms of Charles 1st which is above the doorway of Kings Manor. This house is now part of the University of York but has had many uses in the past. Originally it was built (1270) as a house for the Abbot of St Mary’s Abbey and later (1539) it was surrendered to the crown and became the headquarters of the Council of the North and was known as King’s Manor.
Manor Division covers Clifton, Huntington, Haxby, Strensall and Flaxton.
