How do Rainbows make decisions?
Making decisions is one of the Five Essentials. Rainbows make decisions through frequent Rainbow Chats. This is an opportunity for every member of the unit to discuss and agree plans and for Leaders to listen to Rainbows’ ideas and opinions. They also make individual decisions in the activities they do, eg ‘Shall I make my flower pink or red?’
My Rainbow is six and a half. What happens now?
There is a special challenge for older Rainbows, called My Pot of Gold, which helps the Rainbow to look back on what she has done and helps her to learn about being a Brownie. When she leaves she has a Pot of Gold Party where she will receive her Pot of Gold card and badge. She can wear this badge on her Brownie wear. Pot of Gold is covered in more detail on page 20 in Guidance notes for Leaders: Rainbow section.
